Walking Polar Bear - Table Fetish

Carved by Uagalak the bear measures 2 1/4 in. wide by 5 in. high This is prehistoric fossilized walrus ivory. It gets its color from being buried in the tundra for centuries. The coastal Eskimos dig it up in the warm summer months. This ivory comes from St. Lawrence Island.
